The Handel Haus is located at the 4-way stop in historic downtown Cole Camp, Missouri. The building was constructed in 1920 by George and Marie Wellbrock. This beautiful, nostalgic building, once known, never forgotten, as the "Cole Camp Mercantile", now hosts a plethora of antique furniture, florals, framed art, pottery, linens, quilts and many unique gift items. Customers enjoy the relaxed, open atmosphere as they peruse through treasures of yesteryear and today's trends in home decorating.
Located within the Handel Haus is also the Gartenfest Tea Room, which can seat 50 guests upstairs and 24 downstairs.
The Handel Haus and Gartenfest Tea Room are located in the downtown area of Cole Camp, which dates from the 1800's and is on the National Register of Historic Places. One of the first Civil War battles was fought just outside the town. The wave of German immigrants from North Germany, in the mid 1800's, gave the town it's strong German character and traditions, which continue today with many of the town's activities.
We are open Monday through Saturday, 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and on Sundays from Noon to 4:00 P.M.
